Human performance research

Evidence on what lets people perform, and keep performing, at work.

What this publication does

It reads the studies so that organizations do not have to. Each article takes one question about performance at work, says what the research found, says what it does not show, and gives the citation so anyone can check.

Latest evidence summaries

Do people who move more report less burnout?

In one study of 7,973 employees, the lowest odds of burnout were among people who did about 26 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity plus light activity a day. An association, not a cause.

Is higher stamina linked to living longer?

In a study of 122,007 patients, people in the highest stamina group had much lower long-term mortality than people in the lowest group. A strong link, not proof of cause.

How findings are chosen and graded

Every summary names the design of the study, who was in it and how many, and what the design cannot show. Evidence is graded from systematic reviews and meta-analyzes down to single studies. A finding from a single study is labeled as one. Methods
